NY. Bloomberg sending in NYC Undercover cops to investigate gun shows in . . . Arizona

February 3, 2011

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg as part of his misguided crusade to tighten up gun laws nationally, The New York Times reports that Hizzoner sent undercover cops to gun shows in Arizona :

What’s wrong with this picture?

1. Bloomberg should keep his undercover officers dedicated to preventing crime in his own city, where the homicide rate is markedly higher than the state of Arizona.

2. Bloomberg’s undercovers violated Federal and possibly state law in purchasing or trying to purchase firearms as non-residents… why aren’t they being charged? Its sad and disappointing that law enforcement officers are willing to participate in these politically motivated witch hunts against the Constitution they swore to uphold.

3. It is a felony for a person to go to another state and purchase a handgun.  Thus Bloomberg commissioned a felony – where’s the federal investigation and why isn’t he and the officers supposed to uphold (not break) the law being held accountable.  Another Federal/NY double standard – some people are simply to quote Orwell “more equal than others.”

4. The acts of the agent were felonious and if he performed this task under the instruction of Mr. Bloomberg it could be consisered a straw purchase. Which is also a felony. So Iguess it’s OK to commit a felony if you work for the mayor??? He got in trouble for these shenanagins once. Could it happen again

Note: the gun seller asked to see an Arizona identification.  Exactly how did NYC’s mayor and law enforcement acquire an Arizona ID?
